Kampala: Ethiopian Candlelight Vigil – Tonight

EHAHRDP welcomes the initiative launched by human rights defenders living in exile in Uganda to hold a candlelight vigil tonight in commemoration of the tragic events that occurred following the May 2005 elections and in order to call for an end to human rights abuses in Ethiopia.

This Vigil is part of a worldwide movement aimed at denouncing the human rights abuses, injustices and electoral manipulations which have continued to occur ever since the post-election November 2005 clampdown.

The Vigil will take place tonight at 18h in front of Payless in Kabalagala. Please show your support for your Ethiopian counterparts and attend the vigil.

Attached you will find a more detailed explanation of the global initiative released by the Human Rights and Justice Organizing Committee.
