The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a unique process which involves a review of the human rights records of all UN Member States.
The process provides for the participation of all relevant stakeholders, including non-governmental organisations and national human rights institutions (NHRIs).
Civil society actors and NHRIs can submit information which can be added to the “other stakeholders” report to be considered during the review.

The report highlight concerns related to harassment, intimidation and persecution of members of civil society organisations; restrictions on the right to freedom of expression and attacks on journalists and media platforms; restrictions on the right to freedom of assembly; and restrictions on the right to freedom of association.
