DefendDefenders welcomes new members to the team.

We are thrilled to welcome three new members to our team: Ainobusingye Praise, Daniel Martin Ikosiot, and Floor Veldman. Joining us as fellows, each one brings a unique experience and talent that will support us in enhancing our mandate to protect and promote the work of human rights defenders.

Daniel Martin Ikosiot

Daniel Martin Ikosiot, a poet, is passionate about human rights and enthusiastic about climate change. He has a bachelor’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Makerere University with experience in research. He completed a two-month internship with the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), where he gained valuable exposure to professional work environments. While brief, this experience enabled him to develop a keen sense of professionalism, discretion, and interpersonal skills. Daniel will support the Advocacy, Research and Communications department.

Praise Ainobusingye

Praise has a bachelor’s degree in international relations and Diplomatic Studies from Cavendish University. She is an experienced teacher and was a Protocol Officer in the Office of the Communication and Public Affairs at the Parliament of Uganda. Praise will support the communications team of Consortium For Human Rights And Media in Africa (CHARM).

Floor Veldman

Floor has participated in several volunteer projects in the Netherlands and most recently in Uganda through a pre-internship program, Stick2Uganda. She will be building on her previous experience under the programs department.

We wish Daniel, Praise and Floor a productive stay with us.
